The role of Educational modern digital media on Reduction of Hookah use in Male Students of Zahedan

Digital media is an interactive and user-based communicative instrument consisted of various forms.The aim of this study is to measure the effect of educational digital media relative to that of pamphlet,concerning the reduction of hookah use among the male high school students in Zahedan -Iran. Thisstudy is semi- empirical conducted on 200 male high school students of Zahedan, using multi-stagerandom sampling. The samples were divided into two test and control groups and measurement wasperformed before and after intervention. Data collection instrument was a 53-item questionnaireconsisted of demographic, knowledge, attitude, behavior and self-efficacy questions. Its validity andreliability were confirmed. The test group was educated using digital films and the control group usingpamphlet. The purpose of education was reduction of hookah use. The results before and after theintervention were analyzed using SPSS software, Mann Whitney and Chi square test as well as onedirectional variance analysis.
