Optimization of Lift-Gas Allocations in One of the Oil Fields in an Iranian Southwest Reservoir abstract
Obtaining the optimum gas injection rate is important because excessive gas injection reduces production rate and consequently increases the operation cost. Hence, there should be an optimum gas injection rate which yields maximum oil production. Finding out this optimum gas injection rate is the main challenge of gas lift allocation optimization problem. The objective of this paper is to obtain the optimum gas injection rate which yields the maximum oil production. In this paper, a few series of wells of an Iranian Southwest Reservoir which is faced with pressure drop problems, are investigated. Lift gas allocation and production optimization of all (ten) producing wells had been performed using GAP software. From simulation result of GAP program, maximum oil production rate was achieved 1333.9 m3/day at gas lift injection rate of 420.6 (1000m3/day) and to illustrate the difference between optimized and non-optimized method, Simulation of gas injection for 280 (1000m3/day) for two case was done.
