The importance of rock texture on ultrasonic well treatment abstract

Improving the performance and maximizing the productivity of oil wells through cost effective fashion has been received considerable attention in the current economic trends of the petroleum industry. The productivity reduction is sometimes occurred due to the local impairment of formation permeability around the wellbore due to fine migration, mud filtration, organic/inorganic scale formation, asphaltene deposition and capillary blockade. Ultrasonic treatment is known as a promising technique that has been employed to restore the well productivity in a cost effective fashion. Many properties those interact in this method have been investigated by previous authors. In this paper the effect of rock texture has been studied by measuring absolute liquid permeability and scanning electron microscope (SEM) photos. The results show different trends based on rock texture such as increasing on limestone and decreasing on dolomite
