Abstract:

Nowadays, according to the importance of data security, researches on image encryption algorithms based on chaotic systemsand XOR function, have been considered increasingly. On the other hand, an appropriate hardware implementation for these algorithmsis always a big challenge for researchers and designers. In this paper an ultra-high speed and low power chaos-based image encryptionsystem based on carbon nanotube technology is presented by using our provided current mode approximated XOR circuit; Therefore, inproposed encryption system in order to encrypt the images, chaos parameter values are extracted and used in mentioned XORapproximation circuit, after a series of mathematical operations on the key and initial values which are based on logistic map function. Alarge variety of experiments are done on the proposed approximated XOR and also algorithm security. Analysis and its performance ondifferent images confirm that the system have a high speed and high security as well as low power consumption in encryption subjectssuch as secure internet multimedia or medical image encryption/decryption applications.
