Abstract:

Solving systems of nonlinear equations is of great importance in numerical computation as well as in different engineering design problems. In this study, a novel socio-politically motivated optimization method, called imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA), is employed to solve system of nonlinear equations. In comparison to other evolutionary optimization strategies such as particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, the proposed solver reveals great performance in global optima achievement. Several case studies are provided to demonstrate the efficiency of the present approach in solving nonlinear equations systems.
