Abstract:

Introduction: One of the application of nano biotechnology is to synthesis nano structures, using living organisms. Cornus mas L. (belongs to Cornaceae) can be used for this purpose, due to containing reductive features. Nano particles can affect the percentage and speed of seed germination, in a significant way. In the present study, biosyntheses of Fe2O3nano particles was carried out using mature and semi mature fruits of Cornelian cherry. The effect of resulted particles on germination of Brassica napus L. and Lens culinaris L. was then assayed in comparison with industrial made nano particles. Material and methods: Extraction of mature and semi mature fruits were prepared. The reduction of Fe(NO3)3.9H2O) ions was done via hydrothermal method. The resulted powder was studied using XRD , FTIR and SEM. 30 seeds for each plant samples were stabled into the biological and industrial nano particles suspension (250ml) following by selection of ten seeds, transferring to petri dish. After recording the germination indices, statistical analysis were done using SPSS. Results: microscopical and chemical analyses shows that resulted nano particles of iron oxide is in the range of 20-40m, in the spherical shape. FTIR analysis also showed the roles functional groups in the nano particles biosynthesis process. The germination indices of both plant samples, showed significant difference in compared to the control.
