Application of Hybrid Energy Storage System For Microgrids abstract

In recent years, Due to electrical energy storages (ESSs) technological limitations, the use of hybrid energy storage system (HESS) have developed for microgrids applications. Because of the importance HESS, this paper reviews the main challenges of existing energy storage systems and the concept of storages hybridization. Important points of HESS utilization in microgrid have been investigated and classified. HESS sizing methods, proposed topologies, power electronics interface architectures, control, and application are reviewed. The advantages of the HESS have been studied. According to the reviewed references, the best solution for microgrids applicationshas been concluded
