Abstract:

The aim of the present study is to investigate the extent the teachers employ the Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) features which are of central importance in the classes in which the interactionist model of dynamic assessment is utilized. It is believed that the MLE attributes play significant roles in constructing learners’ Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) made by the teachers’ assistance and mediation. In fact, the study is going to examine two important attributes of MLE called intentionality and reciprocity. For this purpose, a class of learners who are studying at the intermediate level of language proficiency will be selected to participate in the research.First, the learners should take a speaking proficiency test by which a homogenized sample population will be achieved. A qualitative method of data collection will be employed to meet the required needs. The qualitative instruments used in this study consist of questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The data provided by the tools will be transcribed and then compared and contrasted.
