Abstract:

Chelate, any of a class of coordination or complex compounds consisting of a central metal atom attached to a large molecule, called a ligand, in a cyclic or ring structure. An example of a chelate ring occurs in the ferric ethylenediaminetetraacetate complex. Iron is essential for the formation of chlorophyll, a vital component to ensure plant health. Since iron has low plant mobility, new growth in iron deficient plants often shows iron deficiency. In early stages, leaves have intervenial chlorosis where plant leaves are light green to yellow but the leaf veins remain green. In severe cases, leaves turn white and plants may die. Using the complexes of iron chelating ligands solve this issue.The examples of nano iron of complexes are Fe-EDTA, Fe-EDDHA, Fe-EDDHSA and so on. These nano complexes are kind of new type and ideal micronutrient for plants. Nano iron complexes are more suitable and they effect immediately.
