Abstract:
Multi-component reactions (MCRs) provide a convenient method for the preparation of newchemical entities required by agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries [1]. Also, MCRshave been applied to produce laborious biologically active compounds [2]. Nitrogencontainingheterocyclic molecules in five- and six-membered rings such as pyridine ringscompose the considerable section of chemical identities which are predominant interest inmedicinal chemistry due to industrial, pharmacological, biological activities such as anesthetic,antimalarial, antibacterial, antioxidant and antiparasitic properties [3]. In addition, an efficientmethod for synthesis of 1,6-diamino-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrilederivatives by 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine as homogenous catalyst through a one-pot andfour-component reaction is described. This work provides practical method and offer manyadvantages such as short reaction times, excellent yields, and easy work-up procedure.
