Abstract:

Productivity is the criterion for the internal and external feedback of an industry. One of the challenges that the construction industry faces today is measuring and displaying the amount of productivity of critical factors. The lack of transparency in the issues of productivity has created serious problems. The increasing complexity and variety of today’s business has forced construction executives to pursue and continue learning in their daily basis activities. The most effective type of learning process is possible with both modeling and simulation and help an organization to be prepared at any level. In this paper, the purpose is to model the productivity of construction projects with the system dynamics approach by using the Poisson process. The data has been analyzed critically based on experts’ opinion, with the aim to develop it in form of mathematical equations. Results showed that planning is the most productive factor and safety is the least one. It is also found that planning at the first level; control, motivation and disorders at the second level, and safety at the third level had the most impact on productivity
