Optimizing the fuzzy M( /G/m queuing model for hospital waiting list management abstract
In this paper,a state dependent queue model is considered which is applicable in hospital waiting lists management. The parameters of arrival and service rates in the model arefuzzy numbers. The arrival rate is dependent to the queue length. A fuzzy cost function is defined for this model to minimize the operating and idle cost of each server, cost of employing each server, queue cost of customers and the missed customer cost. The optimum service rate and its membership function are obtained through a mixed integer nonlinear programming model.A numerical example is illustrated for the proposed model
