Investigation of shear strength of sandy soil by glass fiber abstract
Using soil improvement methods can be a convenient and cost effective way to improve soil engineering features. In this research, done with the purchase of reinforcement sand samples as well as 6 mm chipped glass fibers with direct shear with the standard test method ASTM D3080. With reinforcement Percentage weighing 0, 10, 30 and 40, the results show that by increasing the fiber percentage, the internal friction angle is reduced by 35, 33, 30and30 and vice versa, the coefficient of adhesion is 0, 0.04, 0.07, 0.16. Failure envelope moves to the right in the axis. It can be said that the glass fiber affects both of these shear strength parameters. The optimum mode of reinforcement was in terms of shear failure and shear strength parameters in 30% and 40% in terms of adhesion parameters, 40% in terms of ductility and 40% in maximum shear strength. Increase the friction angle to the reinforcement 30% an increase in the number that was then re-established in 40% of weapons. But the adhesion is slowly rising.
