Abstract:

Lack of use of suitable systems for municipal and industrial wastewaters purification is considered as a serious threat to the environment and causes severe contamination of surface and underground water resources. One of the fastest growing technologies and Iran has made appropriate measures in this area, nanotechnology[1]. Today, the DI-oxide has been in the removal of excellent features such as high corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive environments, photocatalytic properties, and...Has a lot of attention in the industry[2]. The popularity of cerium dioxide or Soria in catalytic applications is increasing and in some cases it has become a non-substitute substance[3]. Methylene Blue is a high-use aromatic chemical paint and is in textile industry, this color is often toxic, tolerant to biological, carcinogenic and mutagenic due to its aromatic Therefore, the disposal of this dye from wastewater using cerium photocatalyst and suitable and environmentally friendly light source is an effective method for water and wastewater treatment[4].In this study, the nanoparticles of cerium were synthesized by hydrothermal method by using preium CeNO3. From Nano cerium powder in 0.1 and 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 grams as photocatalyst and methylene blue at concentrations of 5, 10 and 15 and 20 ppm have been used as contaminants. As well as the light source of tungsten lamp was inductive. In this study The effect of confounding parameters in photocatalytic process including duration of radiation, PH, concentration of pollutants and photocatalyst were investigated on the degradation of methylene blue from aqueous solution. The optimal joint results showed a 120 min, PH=10, 10 ppm, 0.1 g, for exposure time, PH, methylene blue concentration and photocatalyst level respectively.
