Abstract:

Zinc oxide nanoparticles have significant due to their biological applications such as antibacterial activity and Uv-protection. Furthermore, cobalt oxide nanoparticles have antibacterial and anticancer activity. In this work, zinc oxide and cobalt oxide nanoparticles were synthesized in situ in the reduced graphene oxide and their antimicrobial activity was studied.Characterization of this formulation using different techniques confirmed the correct synthesis. This nanocomposite was characterized using Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectrum analysis, thermogravimetric/differential thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG), and nitrogen adsorption/desorption analysis (BET/BJH).Furthermore, antibacterial activity was studied by well diffusion method against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. High zone of inhibition of this nanocomposite against both bacteria was noted
