Abstract:

Astaxanthin is one of famous carotenoid showing efficient scavenging ability and signifies an interesting candidate in the progress of new therapies for stopping and treating oxidative stress-related pathologies. So for study effect astaxanthin in the cell we need to make stress condition in the cells and forthis purpose, used AMA and AAPH. Method: We cultured HUVEC cells and ready it for MTT assay. For this purpose, treatment by different concentrationof AAPH (80 mM- 10 mM) and AMA (75 μM-12.5 μM) for find the best IC50 of AMA and AAPH. For study gene expression, treatment astaxanthin were studied HO-1, NQO-1, Nrf2 and SOD1 mRNA expression was analyzed using quantitative real-time PCR.Results: Our findings showed that the best concentration IC50of AMA is 12.5 μM and for AAPH is 10 mM, and we showed astaxanthin could affect the signal transduction through HO-1, NQO-1, Nrf2, and SOD1 and protect cell
