Abstract:

This paper aimed to synthesize Zn-doped in zeolite Y. Thus the prepared catalyst was identified and confirmed by FT-IR, XRD, and FESEM technique. An experimental study was designed in which the photocatalytic activity of the prepared catalyst was investigated in adsorption of crystal violet. The effect of several parameters e.g. catalyst amount, pH effect, crystal violet concentration, and the reaction time were measured and the adsorption isotherm reaction was investigated. The main outcomes of the isotherm data revealed that the maximum adsorption capacity was matched with Langmuir and Freundlich absorption isotherms, which was more consistent with the Freundlich model. According to the results, the constant value of Langmuir (KL) isotherm was a number between zero and one, which indicated the optimal adsorption of crystal violet on the modified zeolite. In addition, it confirmed the smaller SSE and RMSE values due to the closeness to the correlation coefficient of ۱ in the Freundlich isotherm compared to the Langmuir isotherm. Therefore, most of the data adaptation to Freundlich isotherm was related to physical absorption (multilayer).
