Nano hydrogel preparation of chitosan and diglycidyl ether compounds and study of thermal, swelling and drug releasing properties

Nano hydrogel of chitosan (CS) were prepared by polyaddition between amino group of CS and epoxy group of diglycidyl ether compounds in an emulsion system by using Span 40 as the surfactant. Water swelling measurements indicated that incorporation of glycidyl ether compounds enhanced their hydrophobicity as compared to the unmodified one. Their thermal properties were determined by DSC and TGA techniques. This system has been used for drug releasing
