Poor diet can be determined to mental health.Depression affects more than 300 million people worldwide and the physical and mental health of an individual is associated with food habits and brain health. Recent studies have relieved that food play a major role in regulating stress and mental health and gut microbe is closely linked to mental health and sleep.cognitive functions are controlled by the central nervous system, which is controlled by the brain. Microorganisms colonize the human gastrointestinal tract. These microbes may vary depending upon age, food habits, and health conditions. Uses of probiotics and probiotic-containing foods are increasing with our understanding towards the beneficial associations of gut colonizing microbes and the human body.Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are the most common genera which have been used as commercial. Probiotics are low-cost and good microorganisms that can improve a person’s mental state without any side effect while anti-depressant drugs may cause gain weight ,drug addiction,constipation, headaches, sexual dysfunction . Adding probiotics to food may change the texture of the food, (which is very important to the consumer’s acceptance), improving it or not.
