Abstract:

This paper applies cooperative game theory to allocate the water resources in the case of various water users such as agriculture, domestic water, industry and environment. Cooperative game approaches based on Shapley value and Nucleolus provide stable models for water allocation in a water resource system. The allocation problem consists of two steps: water resources are initially allocated to water uses based on their needs and then water and net benefits are reallocated to achieveefficient use of water through water and net benefit transfer. The net benefit reallocation is done by application of the different cooperative game theoretical approaches. The developed model is then applied to the Zarrinehrud basin in Northwestern Iran, including the Shahid Kazemi dam
