A new approach synthesis of dihydroimidazo[۲,۱-a]isoquinolin- ۳(۲H)-ylidene)acetate derivatives under mild conditions

The reaction of isoquinoline derivatives with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of ۲-amino-۵-methoxy-۱- methylbenzimidazole to proceeded smoothly at room temperature and under mild conditions led to synthesis of dihydroimidazo[۲,۱-a]isoquinolin-۳(۲H)-ylidene)acetate derivatives in excellent yields. All products were established by IR, ۱HNMR, ۱۳CNMR, Mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
