Abstract:

In this research, the microstructure and wear behavior of duplex stainless steel weldcladdings produced at three heat inputs on A۲۸۳ carbon steel substrates were studied. The weld overlay was produced using the GTAW process and ER۲۲۰۹ rods on thesubstrate. Microstructural studies showed that the amount of austenite in the claddingincreased with the increase of heat input. The results showed that by increasing the heatinput, the wear resistance of the applied weld overlay improve. The results of the SEMshowed that the wear ofthe substrate occurred with the plowing wear mechanism and forcladdings with the scratch and adhesive wear mechanisms.
