Abstract:

The aim of the present study is to investigate the overlap between the Dunning-Kruger effect and narcissistic personality disorder using a library and analytical method. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people mistakenly overestimate their ability, that is, people who are weak in a skill usually do not have a good assessment of their own situation, and in other words, do not realize that in Those skills are weak. One of the psychological disorders that can have the Dunning-Kruger effect and overlap with it is narcissistic personality disorder.The characteristic of people with narcissistic personality disorder is that they arrogantly feel that they are very important, they consider themselves exceptional and have a strong sense of entitlement.To overcome this effect, self-confidence can be brought to more realistic levels by increasing experience in a subject, and especially in the case of people with narcissistic personality disorder, it is possible to create confidence while encouraging them a realistic opinion about themselves and others helped . Finally, for better and more accurate reasoning and conclusions,more accurate research methods should be used.
