Stimulation the accumulates of fatty acids content in Microalgae cells abstract
This study investigates the effect of different amounts of di-potassium hydrogen phosphate (K2HPO4) on fatty acid composition in two species of microalgae including Nannochlorpsis oculata and Spirulina platensis. A factorial experiment was performed in a completely randomized design with five different treatments and three replications. The culture medium was prepared by modified Guillard medium under a continuous aeration system. The treatments were applied on 13th day of culture. Eight high-resolution Gass chromatography (GC) peak associated with primary fatty acids including Palmitic, Oleic, Linoleic, α-Linolenic, γ- Linolenic, Dihomo γ--Linolenic and, Arachidonic were detected in different amounts. it has been seen that the fatty acid contents of Nannochloropsis oculata reacts more significantly than Spirulina platensis to the level of treatments. The results could be applied for promoting the production of the metabolites from microalgae in industrial scales.
