Abstract:

In this paper, high harmonic generation (HHG) and photon emission using plasmonic enhanced field are theoretically investigated. We illustrate that plasmonic fields have a great potential to produce high energy photons by femtosecond laser pulses. The high harmonic generation is the result of the short pulse interaction with the atom. Here, metallic spherical nanoparticles are used to optimize the incident laser pulse. Typically, plasmonic fields appear in the environments of nanostructures that have a different geometric shape. The spatial decay of the near field of the nanoparticle can be approximated by an exponential function. The inhomogeneous characteristic of the plasmonic field plays an important role in the HHG process and the emitted photon energy. And leads to a significant extension in the cut off and plateau region of HHG spectra. Also, the intensity of the attosecond pulse increases. The findings are supported by classical calculations.
