Abstract:

Although critical thinking (CT) has provoked many research works in the ۲۱st century in an educationalcontext, there were many unexplored aspects of CT in the Persian educational setting. One of these crucialaspects was the role of cultural factors in CT use. This study aimed to explore cultural factors in Persian societyto shed a light on identifying unique features of this setting. To this end, an online survey of CT and culturalfactors was used to check Persian undergraduates’ attitudes (N Total=۱۰۲), (Female=۷۴; Male=۲۸) in thisregard. The findings uncovered that Persian undergraduates recognize CT and Persian-specific cultural factorshence, it can be suggested that Persian CT use can be influenced by Persian culture. This study implied thattailored pieces of training in educational and professional settings can facilitate the effective use of CT andcoping with possible cultural barriers. This study can have a remarkable role in following policies ineducational, professional, and societal domains.
