Abstract:

This study examines the efficacy of peer feedback in enhancing intonation patterns among language learners, specifically comparing the influence of two distinct feedback modes: voice recording and animation. With intonation playing a pivotal role in effective communication, the research investigates how peer feedback interventions impact learners' intonation accuracy and overall linguistic proficiency. Through a controlled experimental design, the initial participants of the present study were ۶۰ intermediate-level students which were assigned to three groups: one receiving voice recording-based peer feedback, another engaged with animated feedback, and a control group experiencing traditional instruction. Pre- and post-tests measure intonation pattern changes. In the study both descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The results indicated that both voice recording and animated peer feedback affected the intonation of EFL learners. However, no significant difference was found between the voice recording and animated peer feedback on L۲ learners’ intonation.
