Investigation of clinical characteristics, prevalence and treatment of anorexia nervosa disorder

Anorexia nervosa is one of the common eating disorders that disturb physical and mental health as well as quality of life. Anorexia has always been one of the leading causes of death in teenagers aged ۱۵ to ۱۹ years old. This disorder has received a lot of attention from the American Psychiatric Association. Anorexia nervosa, in spite of being the most important disorder of eating disorders, has not been largely investigated in Iran. In this paper, we discussed the epidemiology, etiology and psychotherapies available for managing anorexia nervosa.
