Abstract:

Introduction: Nowadays, the death rate due to cardiovascular diseases is increasing all over the world, which has a lot to do with the regulation of oxygen homeostasis. Also, hypoxia-inducible factor ۱ (HIF-۱) is a critical factor in hypoxia and its physiological and pathological changes.methodology: Reliable scientific sources and sites such as Web of Sciences, PubMed, Scopus,Cochrane, google scholar were searched and studied with the keywords Hypoxia-Inducible factor ۱(HIF-۱), miRNAs, Cardiovascular diseases.Discussion: HIF-۱ is involved in cellular activities including proliferation, differentiation, and cell deathin endothelial cells (ECs) and cardiomyocytes. Like HIF-۱α, which acts as a protective factor againstvarious diseases in the cardiovascular system, the protective function of microRNAs (miRNAs) has alsobeen proven using animal models. Conclusion: The number of miRNAs identified in the regulation of gene expression responsive tohypoxia and the importance of investigating the involvement of the non-coding genome incardiovascular diseases is increasing, which shows the importance of this issue. In this study, themolecular regulation of HIF-۱ by miRNAs is considered to improve therapeutic approaches in theclinical diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
