The relationship between body image concern and social anxiety in college students(Case study: Azad University, Yasouj Branch)

Studies have shown that when socially anxious people face fearful social situations, attention to themselves and access to negative thoughts and feelings increases and interferes with their performance. To investigate the relationship between concern about body image and social anxiety of students and to measure the desired variables, the following tools have been used:۱ - Social anxiety questionnaire (FNE-SAD)۲ - Body image concern questionnaire (Littleton et al., ۲۰۰۵)In order to analyze the data in this research, the following statistical methods were used:۱ - Descriptive statistics methods (calculation of frequency-percentage-mean-standard deviation-maximum and minimum).۲ - Inferential statistics methods (Pearson's correlation coefficient - multiple regression - multiple variance analysis - Scheffe's post hoc tests - Cronbach's alpha method to calculate reliability coefficients).It was determined by testing the research hypotheses:۱ - There is a relationship between concern about body image and students' social anxiety.۲ - There is a relationship between concern about body image and social anxiety of male students۳ - There is a relationship between concern about body image and social anxiety of female students
