Abstract:

This paper examines the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini from the perspective ofecofeminism. It analyzes the impact of patriarchal oppression on the ecosystem. The paper explores thecorrelation between the exploitation of the environment and the subjugation of women in patriarchalregimes, using Vandana Shiva's Ecological Feminism as a theoretical framework. The study demonstrateshow the novel establishes a connection between the exploitation of women and the destruction of nature. Ithighlights the significance of women's agency in environmental activism. This research advocates for amore comprehensive and inclusive approach to environmental advocacy, arguing that the novel provides avaluable lens through which to explore the fundamental links between gender and environmental justice.
