Green Dreams: A Case Study on Green Design and Overcoming Barriers to Resilient Community in Narmak, Tehran abstract

In this paper, we explore the green design and its role in enhancing community resilience in the Narmak neighborhood, in Tehran. Here, after introducing various green strategies that contribute to the city's resilience, we introduced the barriers to implementing LEED standards and sustainable urban development in Narmak, Tehran. Although there are potential economic, environmental, and social benefits, we investigated key challenges such as high costs, cultural resistance, governing hurdles, and lack of awareness inhibit progress. The study presents policy recommendations aimed at incentivizing green building practices, enhancing public education, revising regulatory frameworks, promoting sustainable transportation, fostering collaborative partnerships, and establishing monitoring systems. This comprehensive approach seeks to engage multiple stakeholders, ultimately paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient community in Narmak, Tehran.
