LONG-TERM MODEL FOR OPTIMAL GENERATION PLANNING OF MIXED HYDRO-THERMAL SYSTEMS abstract
Each model for the long-range generation planning of mixed hydro-thermal power system should describe the existing and new alternative generating plants and give the best construction plan for new sources, in the sense of adequately selected optimization criterion. This paper presents the essential features of a new developed long-term generation planning model, which satisfy specific requirements mentioned above. Besides the standard topics, contained in similar models (i.e. simulation of operation, production costing, system reliability, ...) the specific roblems considered in this paper are optimization criterion and corresponding constraints for determination of the optimal expansion policy in the course of the planning period. Results obtained from the case study with a future Yugoslav Power system are also presented.
