Abstract:

Heavy metal removal by algal species in a pilot plant was done before 15th International power conference and result of a batch study for different metals and algal species was presented in that conference and puplished in volume 11 of proceeding. The investigation was followed using the same metals and algae in a continuous system. The efficiency of dried tissues of two species were also investigated. In this paper the results of second part of this research is presented. To refresh memory about use of microorganisms and heavy metals a brief discussion will appear here. Heavy metals are natural elements of earth crust and Oil. During industrial processes they penetrate into the environment either as solid waste, suspended particle or liquid waste. Some of these metals may be needed
