Abstract:
recent developments in Gas turbine usages inpower generation units have made more emphasis on efficiency& emission rates of these machines. In this regard, ANSLDOV94.2-Type Gas Turbine manufacturers focused their efforts toreach the higher efficiency & the least emissive power generationunits. The present study tries to scrutinize the effects of fuel gas& fuel oil on efficiency of V94.2 Gas Turbines as well as takingthe emission rates of using each fuel types into considerations tosuggest a more reasonable selection to power producers whilemaking necessary decisions about using either of these two fueltypes. And also it was reviewed some of advanced technologiesregarding the higher efficiency Gas Turbines and emissioncontrol techniques. At the primary phase of the study, basicconcepts and design aspects of these power production machineswere reviewed and main parts of combustion system of the unitswere analyzed to identify the main roles of combustion parts inour objectives. Then, some experimental data from performancetest results; laboratorial data and manufacturer's documentswere reviewed and compared with each other. Finally, theanalysis of results compared the efficiency and environmentalaspects of running V94.2 Gas Turbines in Fuel Gas and Fuel Oil,whilst some economic and thermodynamic aspects out of usingeach types of fuel were compared, simultaneously.
