Abstract:

Chemical looping combustion is a promising technology for energy generation along with inherent separation of CO2. In conventional chemical looping processes cooling jackets and supportive materials are in use to control the temperature of reactors. Supportive materials are in use to increasethe mechanical strength of oxygen carrier particles as well as enhancing the heat integration between the reactors. For the first time in this article along with using supportive materials, pressurized water as cooling fluid has been used in the internal coils of the air reactor. In this way, not only the outlettemperature of air reactor is regulated precisely, but also high pressure steam is produced. The proposed new scheme is very flexible in adjusting the temperature of reactors on desired values compare to the conventional plants. Aspen Plus 7.2 simulation software has been used to simulate the process and optimize operating conditions and outlet products.
