Abstract:
Background: The aim of the present study was to describe the rate of the relationship between perfectionism and organizational citizenship behavior among athletes and nonathletes in Bonab. Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive survey type of correlational branch and in terms of purpose, it was practical. The statistical population of the study was athletes and non-athletes of Bonab in which the stratified samplingmethod was used for sampling. In order to collect data, two standard questionnaires of perfectionism of Hill et al. (2004) and for organizational citizenship behavior, thestandard questionnaires of Organ and Bateman (1988) were used that their validity and reliability were verified. In order to analyze the data obtained from collectedquestionnaire, Kolmogorove- Smirnov’s and Pearson’s tests were used. Results and Discussions: The results of hypothesis testing indicated that there is significant relation between perfectionism and organizational citizenship behavior amongathletes (P<0.05), but there is no significant relation between perfectionism and organizational citizenship behavior among non-athletes (P>0.05).Conclusion: The results of the present study suggest that the higher level of perfectionism leads to the higher organizational citizenship behavior in athletes while there is not such relationship in non-athletes
