Effect of Pozzolan on the Mechanical Properties and Durability of SCC Concrete abstract
The scope of present study is exploring the effects of different pozzolans on mechanical and durability properties of self-compacting concrete. The durability of concrete is one of the most important agents in concrete generation. Applying pozzolans in concrete generation is one of the most important parameters in increasing durability. Different pozzolans in plain concrete have been studied; however, less attention has been devoted to pozzolans application in SCC concretes. For this purpose, various concretes with different mix designs and three kinds of pozzolans including Microsilica, Metakaolin and Zeolite are produced. For all the mix designs, different tests considering the concrete consistency including slump flow, V cone, and L-shaped box have been done and segregation from the mortar is being investigated. Besides, the tests which are related to durability including compressive strength, water absorption, and electrical resistance are done and their influences on concrete durability are explored
