Abstract:

The present study was conducted aiming to predict special school (schools for exceptional children with special educational needs) teachers’ family communication patterns on the basis of work-family conflict and parenting styles in Shiraz-Iran. The research statistical population encompassed all the teachers working at secondary special schools for exceptional children in Shiraz. A total of 08 teachers were selected using purposive sampling method as the research sample. Moreover, to collect the necessary data, Fitzpatrick and Ritchie Family Communication Patterns instrument, Carlson Work-Family Conflict Scale, and Baumrind Parenting Style Inventory were used. Then the data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis, the results of which indicated that work-family conflict and parenting styles significantly predict family communication patterns.
