Abstract:

In this study, the effects of four parameters including pH, reaction time, H2O2 concentration, and catalyst loading on the decolorization of acid blue 113 (AB113) by synthesized vanadium ferrite nanocatalyst have been studied. In order to optimize the decolorization efficiency, response surface methodology (RSM) based on central composite rotatable design (CCRD) was employed. Optimum condition for the decolorization of AB 113 solution with concentration of 25 mg/L was obtained at 10 min, H2O2 amount of 0.05 ml, PH 6, and catalyst loading of 0.01g. The results showed that at the optimum conditions, more than 96.2% dye removal can be obtained. The synthesized substituted magnetite nanoparticles are efficient Fenton catalysts for the treatment of industrial wastewaters containing azo dyes suchh as Ab 113.
