Abstract:

In this research, kinetic and absorption of CO2 into partially carbonated ammonia solutions have been investigated both theoretically and experimentally. An approach has been developed for absorption rate of CO2 into partially carbonated ammonia solutions based on unsteady state reaction-diffusion film modeling. Conversion film parameter and carbonation ratio have been presented as a two creations for absorption rate. Absorption rate of CO2 obtained using the approach has been compared with other researchers correlations. Three experiments have been conducted for validation of the approach using a packed column. Comparison of the approach results with experimental data shows good agreement between them.
