Abstract:
Producing of hydrogen with high purity plays an important role on the energy generation and refinery consumptions. In this study Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalytic reactor has been simulated by 1D-heterogeneous modeling method in steady state condition. In order to reach the higher amount of hydrogen purity, the effects of operating parameters on the hydrogen yield has been studied. The results of simulation show the positive effect of temperature rising, pressure reducing and increasing of steam to methanol ratio (S/M) on the hydrogen yield. The temperature of 533 K, pressure of 1 atm, S/M ratio of 3.5 and feeding flow rate of 2 mol/s were determined as optimum operating conditions.
