A Review of Biogas Production Methods from Wastes and Sewage and the Process Explanation

Background & Aims of the Study: Construction of biogas from plants, inaddition to energy provision, could be an effective way to resolve theurban waste crisis and reduce emissions and bring about significant socio-economic effects. In the present study, we have tried to investigate the roleof bio-energy in providing energy supply, biogas production mechanism,the importance and benefits of biogas application, and to describe theprocess of organic matter decomposition with bacteria. This study hasmade use of library methods and database information from 1998 to 2014Besides introducing different technologies for making use of biogas fromlandfills, its application, economic aspects in the world, and techniques ofexploiting its resources have been also evaluated, and a model has beenpresented for determining the rate of biogas production based on grade Areaction kinetics.
