Smart Quality Control in Cement Industry: Real-time and Continuous XRF Analysis of Materials on Conveyor Belt abstract
Digital transformation enables industries to increase productivity and product quality while reducing costs. As vital assets, smart equipment and sensors play an essential role on the path towards digitalization of the production plants. This paper reports on a smart XRF-based analyzer which offers unprecedented opportunities to dynamically monitor flow of the materials in the cement industry. Installed on the conveyor belt, the analyzer performs real-time measurements of the compounds such as SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO as well as the key parameters like Lime Saturation Factor (LSF), Silica Ratio (SR) and Alumina Ratio (AR), continuously and without use of any radioactive source. Through a smart platform, managers can remotely monitor analytical quality results in real-time which can give them comprehensive insight to make accurate and fact-based decisions at the right time.
