Abstract:

In this article a genetic algorithm approach for fuzzy assembly line balancing problems is introduced. Considering the grouping property of the assembly line balancing problems and based on the dissimilarity functions in clustering, a grouping genetic algorithm is defined and applied to several test problems of the fuzzy assembly line balancing. The reported results and comparisons show that the proposed algorithm is promising.
