Abstract:

In the implementation of this disquisition, from 62 regions in the suburbs of 11 cities (Zabol, Zahak, Nimroz, Hamoon, Hirmand, Khash, Zahedan, Mir Javeh, Saravan,Mehrestan and Sib and Suran) located in the north and northeast of Sistan and Baluchistan Province, the number of 464 live samples(256 female specimens and 208 male specimens) were caught, at nights, by using phosphorescent lamps (UV) and during days by lifting rocks and searching below fallen leaves, wall and rock grooves, as well as throwing water into scorpion nests in different seasons of the year (spring, summer and autumn). The collected samples were studied in terms of their morphological and morphometric properties in the Biosystematic Laboratory of Zanjan University using the Key Finder of the scorpion fauna of the case of Iran (Farzanpey, 1987) and the Key Identification of the Middle East Scorpion Fauna (Yağmur, 2011). The results of this study showed that in Sistan and Baluchistan eight species (Androctonus robustus, Androctonus baluchicus,Kraepelinia palpator, Sassanidotus gracilis, Mesobuthus eupeus, Mesobuthus macmahoni, Orthochirus afghanus, Orthochirus fuscipes) from five genera (Androctonus, Kraepelinia, Mesobuthus, Orthochirus, Sassanidotus) from the Buthidae family are distributed. Among the species identified Androctonus robustus and Orthochirus afghanus species were introduced as the new records to the Iranian scorpion fauna from the province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
