Abstract:

In this manuscript, we synthesized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) functionalized with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (Fe3O4@APTES). The synthesized nanoparticles were coated with succinic anhydride (Fe3O4 @COOH) in the next step. Then carboxylic acid groups were reacted with Irgacure 2959 as a UV sensitive linker andpoly (ɛ-caprolactone) (PCL) was grafted from the surface of modified SPIONs, from free hydroxyl groups of Irgacure 2959 as initiator. The polymeric shell was completely removed by UV-irradiation time up to a maximum of 30 minutes.
