Abstract:

‭In this project (from 1382-1386), eigthy medicinal and aromatic plants, 6 Achillea species, 10 Anthemis species, 10 Bunium species, 3 Eucalyptus species, 6 Hypericum species, 2 Nepeta species, 13 PimpineUa species, 6 species, 12 Satureja species, 6 Thymus species ans some other species named Andropogon iscl,aemum' Gonstscharovia popovii' Lallemantia peltata 'Micromeria persica Peucedanum petiolare 'Plumbago europaea. Teucrium polium and Varthemia persica were collected from their natural habitates in proper phenology .stages. The_ plant materials were dried in .room temperature and after separation the proper organs, their essential oils were obtained by distillation methods. Oil yields were calculated after calculation the humidity percentage. The oils were analyzed by capillary GC and GC-MS. The components of the oils were identified by comparison of their mass spectra with those of a computer library or with authentic compounds and confirmed by comparison of their retention indices, either with those of authentic compounds or with data published in the literature. The retention indices were calculated for aU volatile constituents using a homologous series of n‬ص‭alkanes. In addition of identification chemical composition of these essential oils, the application of the oils in different industries like medical, hygenic-cosmetics and nutrision were introduced. In four sub-projects Teucrium polium, Satureja sahendica, Thymus pubescens and Nepeta Crassifolia were collected from all habitates in one province and cultivated in one research station. The oil contents and composition of the natural and cultivated species were compared. Key words: Aromatic plants, essential oil, distillation, GC, GCIMS. ص‬
