Abstract:

Tendency towards addiction is caused by various factors. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the sociological phenomenon of addiction, emphasizing on two main variables of “self-control” and “religiousness”. Survey methods and questionnaires are respectively adopted as the Research Method and Research implements throughout the study. Research population of this study included ۱۰۸۳۰ high school students in the city of Boukan in ۲۰۲۰-۲۱ academic year, of which ۵۰۰ were selected by Cochran's formula and sampled by random stratification method, proportional to volume. The results showed that the variables of self-control and religiousness along with the contextual factors of parents’ education, parents' occupation, place of birth, number of family members remained in the model and variables such as gender and residence are omitted out of the model. The two variables of self-control and religiousness have respectively played the greatest role in the explanation of the independent variable, which was the tendency towards industrial drugs. Finally, the independent variables of research were capable of explaining ۷۵% of the changes in the dependent variable.
