Abstract:

The main purpose of this article is to introduce two-dimensional photonic crystals as a solution for making simpler and more practical optical devices and also to design and manufacture an optical filter using two-dimensional crystal photonics. Arsoft software was used to simulate optical devices, to introduce the flat wave expansion method, the modified flat wave expansion method, the infinite difference method in the time domain, and to describe the types of defects and microcavities of the optical crystal. Finally, an optical filter was designed using two-dimensional photonic crystals in Arsoft software and its band structure was refracted by changing the radius of the dielectric and fixed grid rods as well as the output wavelength range of the filter relative to the radius changes. The network of defect bars was examined. The band gap and the wavelength passing through it were investigated for changes in the radius of the rods and their dielectric coefficient. The results show that the size of the passing wavelength increases / decreases with increasing / decreasing radius and dielectric coefficient.
